About ITE (International Technology Exchange Society)

ITE (International Technology Exchange Society) is a Non-profit Society registered in the U.S.A. ITE was established by Dr. Kozawa,
Ex-Fellow of Union Carbide Corporation and Ex-Professor at Tohoku University, for the purpose of developing new technology for lead-acid battery and supporting lead-acid battery industry and its retailers.

Use of our activator in batteries for various uses

Among lead-acid batteries, approx. 60% to 65% are used for starting engines and approx.. 30% to 35% are used for driving power of EV, golf cart and forklift etc. In either use, our ITE activator (Super-K) is effective.
Our goal is to reduce use of metallic by more than 50% where 60% of material cost of lead-acid battery comes from, by lengthening the life of battery. And, we can contribute to environmental protection.

Development and effectiveness of our organic polymer activator

ITE activator is to be added in sulfuric acid. In the past, it was common understanding that adding soluble materials into battery will deteriorate battery. Therefore, only non-soluble additives such as barium sulfate, lignin powder and carbon powder etc. were used for negative electrode.
ITEfs activator is the worldfs first effective additive using polymer soluble in sulfuric acid.

This organic polymer will do no harm even if it is added too much, because it will be oxidative decomposed at positive electrode and will be gradually reduced. Deterioration at positive electrode caused by chemical reaction of the additive will be recovered by charging the battery and there won't be any harm.

Also, the organic polymer has small size molecules and is slow in dispersion.
Therefore, oxidative decomposition of the polymer at positive electrode takes long time like a year, resulting in long time effectiveness of the additive.
This organic polymer activator increases hydrogen overvoltage and it works for eliminating sulfation. The activator has a function to automatically recover the battery when used in deteriorated battery at negative electrode.
When the activator is applied in the new battery, it works to avoid deterioration of negative electrode. Then, it can help making more perfect sealed battery maintaining higher capacity at negative terminal than positive terminal of the battery.

Extending battery life of the batteries used in Electric Bus in China:

Electric buses accomdating 30 passengers were used at Shanghai World Expo.
That big electric bus used 44 pieces of battery each having capacity of 100Ah-12V.
Battery life of the electric bus at test run was approx. 9 months. Dr. Kozawa did a road test as co-research with Professor Li Yang at Shanghai Jiao Tong University beginning in November 2009. ITE activator was applied on batteries used for 7 months in these electric buses, and each bus runned 5 rounds of Expo site per day.
If ITE activator were not used, those batteries in electric buses should have been replaced and disposed by the end of February 2010. But, thanks to ITE activator,no battery deterioration was found and electric buses kept running without replacing batteries. We intend to continue the road test co-working with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and hopefully we could spread the use of ITE activator all over China.
